As Louisiana and Texas communities begin the process of recovery and restoration following the devastation of Hurricane Laura, Sparklight, part of the Cable One family of brands, has committed to providing both community support and associate assistance toward hurricane relief efforts.
Sparklight has pledged to donate $15,000 to the American Red Cross to support recovery efforts for residents of impacted communities. Additionally, the company will match associate donations to the Cable One Disaster Relief Fund, which was established to support company associates who are impacted by natural disasters.
“Our hearts are with all those recovering from the disastrous effects of Hurricane Laura,” said President and CEO Julie Laulis. “After ensuring our associates and their families were safe, our primary focus has been on restoring service to our customers as quickly as possible, because we understand how critical connectivity is in times like these. Our teams will continue to work alongside our neighbors and first responders in Louisiana and Texas to restore our communities and help our friends and families get back on their feet.”
With nearly 50 percent of customers in the company’s east Texas and Louisiana markets impacted by Hurricane Laura, Sparklight technicians worked around the clock in order to restore service to 97 percent of its customers within 6 days of the storm. Restoration efforts continue as the company maps fiber breaks and repairs impacted plant and equipment.
