Sparklight® Helps Fargo Family in Need Through Partnership with Nonprofit Down Home

Sparklight® associates recently gave their time and skills to help transform an apartment into a home to help a Fargo family in need through its partnership with Down Home (DH), a local Fargo nonprofit.

DH serves families and individuals emerging from homelessness. The organization works closely with community agencies who refer families for DH’s services and once the move in date is set, DH gathers all the necessary items including furniture, decor, new mattresses and more to transform an empty space into a comfortable home.

“It’s an honor to partner with an organization that makes a lasting impact on our community,” said James Swailes, Sparklight MDU Relationship Manager.  “Our team was honored to help this family and moved when we saw the tears of joy in the mother’s eyes as her four young children discovered their new home for the first time. Their excitement over having a space of their own and new beds to sleep in was heartwarming. It’s an experience we will never forget.”

Sparklight donated $3,000 earlier this year to DH to assist in purchasing critical items for families in need.

“When my husband and I founded Down Home, we envisioned a community where everyone lives in a supported, stable and nurturing home,” said Jenessa Fillipi, co-founder and director of DH. “We are so grateful for our partnership with Sparklight. With their help and the support of our community, we’re able to provide our families an environment they can embrace, feel safe and secure, and empower them to build connections, be determined to succeed, and ultimately break the cycle of homelessness.”

Being a strong local community partner is central to Sparklight’s mission and values and its associates are passionate about giving back to the communities in which they live and work. Through donations of resources and time to nonprofits like DH, Sparklight seeks to make a positive impact in the communities it serves.
