Sparklight®, a leading broadband communications provider, will begin construction this month on a nearly $6.5 million upgrade to its robust, fiber-rich network in Rio Rancho.
The project will further strengthen the reliability of Sparklight’s high-speed internet service, while building a future-proof network to meet the long-term connectivity needs of the Rio Rancho community.
“For more than 35 years, we’ve been a proud part of the Rio Rancho community and this latest investment exemplifies our commitment to bringing fast and reliable internet to our residents and businesses, as well as our outstanding local service by Sparklight associates who live and work here,” said Jane Shanley, Sparklight’s Rio Rancho General Manager. “This infrastructure upgrade enables us to meet the evolving digital needs of our customers while delivering a high-value service and a quality customer experience.”
Sparklight launched Gig service to Rio Rancho residential customers in 2017, well before many others in the industry. Shanley says this project lays the groundwork for the next evolution of internet service – 10 Gigabit (10G) speeds – internet connectivity more reliable, more secure and 10 times faster than today’s networks.
“We are actively working to ensure our Rio Rancho customers have access to a state-of-the-art network designed to handle future technological advances that will revolutionize the way we do things and lead to groundbreaking changes in communication, health care, education, entertainment and more,” Shanley said.
Work on the Rio Rancho infrastructure upgrade is projected to be complete by spring 2023. The company anticipates the possibility of intermittent service interruptions during construction. Notification will be sent to customers prior to work being conducted in their area. An up-to-date construction list will also be available online at www.sparklight.com/riorancho.
